Nurse Consultation

In your nurse consultation, you'll discuss your health, review your medical history and have a chance to ask questions. The nurse will also check for any risks and confirm whether you're eligible to see a doctor.
What to expect:

    Tell us what you’re experiencing and how it affects you.
  • Review your medical history
    We’ll ask about conditions and any prescriptions you have.
  • Answer your questions
    Ask the nurse any questions you have about the process.
  • Eligibility check
    We may request additional supporting documentation to confirm eligibility. You will be able to provide these to us via email after the nurse consultation.

What to bring to the nurse consultation
Being prepared helps you get the most out of your time. Here's a few things to have handy:
Your Medicare card
Your Concession Card (if you have one)
A list of current prescribed medications. You will need to tell us how often you take this medication and the amount you take.
Any previous treatments or medications you've tried to treat your symptoms
A discharge letter (if you're switching from another clinic)
Any questions or notes you'd like to bring up
What additional supporting documentation might I need?
If additional supporting documentation is needed, the nurse will let you know during your consultation.
A nurse may request it if you’re taking any medication that may conflict with our treatments.
If you are required to send us additional supporting documents, you can email them to us at info@alternaleaf.com.au. Our clinical team will review them and contact you via email or phone with an update within 5 business days.

Doctor Consultation

In your doctor consultation, we’ll review your medical history, confirm whether our services are right for you and outline a tailored care plan.
What to expect:

    The doctor will go through your past and current treatments to see if our services are right for you.

    They'll assess and confirm whether you're suitable for our services.
  • Tailored care plan
    If our services are appropriate, your doctor will outline a tailored care plan.
Accessing your consultation
In order to access your consultation, please click the link provided in your booking confirmation email. Before having your consult virtually, make sure your camera/microphone access is enabled.

If budget is a consideration, make sure to mention it to your doctor.

Set up your patient portal

Following your doctor consultation, you'll be directed to uMeds to continue your health journey. You can access this via your patient portal.
Create your password

You'll receive a link to create a password for your patient portal (make sure to check your spam folder).
Manage your consultations

Once you create a password, you’ll need to log into the portal for the first time. From there, you’ll be able to manage and book consultations and view your personal information.
Where can I find the patient portal?
Anytime you need to log in, you can find the portal from the Alternaleaf home page.
Here's how to access the portal:
  • Go to www.alternaleaf.com.au
  • Look for the button at the top right of the screen that says "patient login"
  • You'll see the log in page asking for your email address and password
    Log in with your details. If you forgot your password, you can change it at anytime.

Follow-up Consultations

Follow up consults are an important part of your ongoing care. Your doctor will let you know when to book your follow up appointment. You'll also receive reminders closer to consult’s date.
What to expect:
  • Patient feedback
    Your doctor will ask about your experience with your care.
  • Comprehensive review
    Your doctor will review past notes and previous consultation details to provide the best care.
  • Adjustments
    Adjustments may be made based on how you've responded to your care.
Do I need another nurse consult?
You don't need to speak to a nurse in order to have follow-ups with your doctor.
